Description

Circa early 1950s light summer check jacket. Light brown in colour. Single breasted with button fastening. Concealed button under collar. Two box pleat flap patch pockets. Ridged wool band with stretch, this has slight damage to  the right hand side. Full sleeve with adjustable strap and button fastening at sleeve. Maurice L. Rothschild was a department store owner and philanthropist. He came to the USA from Germany in the 1870s and started his business from a covered wagon, selling clothing in railway construction camps. His first store opened in Kansas in 1885. Then one was established in Minneapolis. The Chicago store followed in 1906.
