This polyester knit maxi dress comes directly from the Roberta di Camerino archive in Italy (see archive's stamp on picture 9) and is therefore unworn. It shows an illusionistic print of a long sleeved dark grey blouse with matching neck-tie, a carmine red double-breasted long blazer with faux pockets and a carmine and orange striped skirt with black detailing adding to the idea of a fuller skirt. This effect is called trompe l'oeil and means a "visual illusion in art, especially as used to trick the eye into perceiving a painted detail as a three-dimensional object" (Oxford Dictionaries).
The dress has an open collar, darts at bustline, long sleeves with buttoned cuffs with gold-toned logo buttons and fastens up the back with a zip and a hook and eye at neck. It is unlined and its label reads "Roberta di Camerino Made in Italy". The dress shows a signature logo "R" imprint on the right faux breast pocket and is tagged an Italian size 42 and American size 8.
Unworn and in excellent vintage condition. The Roberta di Camerino's archive stamp on the inside of the hem does not show through.
