This pink and lobster-red belted polyester knit dress comes directly from the Roberta di Camerino archive in Italy (see archive's stamp on picture 8) and is therefore unworn. Dress and belt show an illusionistic print with black detailing adding to the idea of a fuller skirt in motion and a belt with stitches. This effect is called trompe l'oeil and means a "visual illusion in art, especially as used to trick the eye into perceiving a painted detail as a three-dimensional object" (Oxford Dictionaries).
The fitted dress has an open collar, darts at bustline, long sleeves with buttoned cuffs with gold metal logo print buttons and a matching belt with a a gold metal buckle and four holes that runs through four belt loops in matching fabric that are sewed on slightly below the natural waist. It slips on over the head with no closure, is unlined and its label reads "Roberta di Camerino Made in Italy". The dress shows the signature logo "R" imprint on the right sleeve above the cuff and is tagged an Italian size 44. There is still the original paper tag with detailed information regarding the model's name, size and price: “Vestito (dress) Gabbiano, (size) 44, 160.000 Lira (price)“.
Unworn and in excellent vintage condition. Two production-related tiny slightly brighter spots on the sleeves – only noticeable if you know where they are. The Roberta di Camerino's archive stamp on the inside of the hem does not show through.
