This a show-stopper piece. It is a statement 1970s Oscar de la Renta floor-length sweeping gown. The vibrant lime green colour is a head-turner alone but it's organza-like fabric is also woven throughout with a bright gold metallic thread in a diagonal pattern. The combination is stunning. The collar, bodice and sleeve have a chain-link effect detail of silver and gold and act as a dramatic piping detail. The bodice itself is tightly fitted with stand-up collar. The sweeping skirt is full and ankle-length and falls beautifully. The sleeves are long but finish from the wrist with a full flared cuff. The zip is at the back.
Oscar de la Renta is best known for his striking couture-like, ready-to-wear red carpet gowns and evening wear. Since the mid 1960's, the designer developed successful bridal, fragrance and homeware collections that established his reputation as one of the most successful and respected designers in the industry. Oscar de la Renta has dressed many a First Lady, including Nancy Reagan, Betty Ford, Laura Bush and, of course, his number one fan, Hillary Clinton, as well as modern stars Anne Hathaway, Liv Tyler and Sarah Jessica Parker.
