A striking Goossens brooch by Robert Goossens. Goossens also designed and produced jewellery for most of the major couture houses from the mid 1950s. This included Coco Chanel with whom he created some of the best and most sought after pieces of the costume jewellery golden era. This particular Goossens brooch, dating to around 1970, features 24 carat gilded bronze set with the most fabulous deep red and tourmaline shade of pate de verre. Designed in the Byzantine cruciform style synonymous with his pieces for Chanel. This spectacular Goossens brooch is in excellent vintage condition and carries the Goossens stamp on the reverse. The brooch measures a very substantial approx. 6.75cm by 5.5cm.
