1960s cream brocade 2 piece event gown by designer Robert Strong for the department store B. Siegel Company in Detroit. This fabulous outfit is of a shorter length, typical of the evening dresses in the 60s. The dress has a fitted mermaid style brocade skirt with a back zipper and a light camisole top. The dress is not designed to be worn without the separate long sleeve top - it is like a slip or lining fabric. The outer/over top is of the same brocade, in a slightly quilted cream fabric, again zipping up the back. The icing on the cake of this particular ensemble is the fabulous crystal, pearl and rhinestone beaded hem on the cuffs and waist. It is a very chic and understated look with the right amount of sparkle and glamour.
